Email message rules do not show up, but this is not a concern, I can manually create them again as I receive new email messages.Įmail accounts were not created when importing the PST file, again this is not a concern as I can manually create them again (only 4 email accounts, not a big deal).

I was able to create a single profile and by importing the backed up pst file I now have the Inbox plus all custom folders with all of the email messages I had in my PC. So I'm in the process of reconstructing my PC's Outlook 2013 in my laptop, so that it behaves in the exact same way as it did in my PC. Luckily I backed up the PC's Outlook 2013 data files (pst, etc) to an external HD and own a laptop (Windows 8 圆4) with Outlook 2013 installed that I'm using in the meantime as a backup computer. My PC's monitor died, so until I get a new monitor (it might be several weeks until I do so) I have no access to the PC.
It has a single profile and it has several email accounts (mostly IMAP Gmail accounts) that deliver emails to the same single inbox or to custom folders within the same profile according to email message rules I setup. No wonder I wait 7 years before buying a new PC.Hi, I'd appreciate help with the following Outlook 2013 issue.

RANT ALERT Why is this so hard? Microsoft should make this as easy as it is to switch to a new phone with Samsung Switch! This is the 4th full day that I have spent getting all of my software loaded and up and running and setting my settings on the new PC. Is there any way to import my rules and settings, etc?

UPDATE: It will FINALLY SYNCHRONIZE! Maybe it just needed 2 days to do it because I have so many emails saved? I should probably archive more often.īUT: I still have a bunch of folders that say "on this computer only" How to resolve that? Should I just copy the past 6 months worth of emails from those folders into the version of those folders that doesn't have the label on it? Will it delete them when it syncs? I wasn't putting it in a different spot but it sure would be nice if I could! I have all the old emails now. I guess it worked because it was in the same spot.
I already brought the OST to the new laptop and opened it. I've tried looking up solutions but they all seem to apply to the online version or Exchange (which may or may not apply). Is there a way to bring all of that over as well without having to change each setting individually? pst file or will that give me the same "this computer only" problem?Īlso, I have totally customized all of my settings, fonts, signature, etc. Do I just wipe it all out? Start again? How do I properly get ALL of my old emails to come over to my new computer? Do I take ONLY the. But it's back to trying to synchronize and new emails are not coming (or probably going) while it's doing that.Ĭlearly there is something wrong. I did get some of my new emails from last night and today. I cancelled and tried a new send/receive.
